Who it’s for
For dry hair, the kind that drinks conditioner and never seems satisfied, and for scalps that feel tight or flake after washing. It also suits you if you wash often: dry hair plus frequent washing is precisely the combination conventional shampoos handle worst. Being sulphate-free, it lathers less: that is normal, and not a sign it is cleaning less. What’s inside
What defines this shampoo is mostly what it leaves out: no sulphates, no sodium, no parabens. Sulphates are the foaming agents that strip a scalp, and on already dry hair they take away the very oil it is short of. That is the reason for everything else: without them, washing does not restart the dryness and itching cycle. The aloe vera and sweet almond fragrance is the more nourishing of the two. The bottle holds 250 ml.
What to expect
A scalp that no longer feels tight when you step out of the shower, from the first few washes, and lengths that are less rough to comb. If you are coming from a high-lather shampoo, allow two or three washes to adjust: hair can feel less squeaky at first, while your scalp finds its rhythm again. On very dry hair the mask in this range does the rest of the work: a shampoo, however gentle, is there to clean.
