Who it’s for
For anyone wanting out of the plastic tube without giving up an effective brush. The powder surprises you the first time — no foam, no industrial mint flavour — and it takes a few days to get used to. It replaces neither flossing nor a scale and polish at the dentist.
What’s inside
Four ingredients and nothing else: white clay, calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate and xylitol. The clay and the carbonate make the fine grain that lifts surface stains without scratching enamel, the bicarbonate neutralises the acidity that follows a meal, and the xylitol gives sweetness without sugar. Hence the powder's grey colour: no charcoal, no fragrance and no preservative, which a dry powder does not need. It contains no fluoride either. If you have had repeated cavities, talk to your dentist before making it your everyday toothpaste.
What to expect
Smooth teeth and a clean feeling after brushing. On brightness, it lifts the surface staining left by tea, coffee and tobacco, and that shows gradually. It does not change the natural colour of your teeth, which is the colour of the dentine beneath the enamel: no toothpaste does, whatever the packaging says.
How to use
Dampen your toothbrush, dip it lightly in the powder and brush as usual.
